CPR, First-Aid, AED Instructors Course

Course Overview

A 

The CPR, First Aid, and AED Instructor Course offered by the American Red Cross is designed to train and certify individuals to teach Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED courses for adults, children, and infants. This professional-level program prepares instructor candidates to deliver high-quality, engaging training sessions that meet OSHA guidelines and national standards for emergency cardiovascular care and workplace safety.

Through a blended learning format that includes online pre-course work, interactive classroom sessions, and practice teaching, candidates will develop the skills needed to effectively lead courses, evaluate participant performance, and ensure students leave confident in their ability to respond to emergencies. Upon successful completion, instructors are authorized to teach American Red Cross First Aid, CPR, and AED courses in a variety of settings.t IronClad Protection Academy, we are committed to providing our clients with the highest level of safety and security. Course Objectives

 

  • Understand the structure, content, and delivery of Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED programs
     
  • Develop skills in classroom facilitation, student evaluation, and course administration
     
  • Learn how to use instructional materials and equipment effectively
     
  • Practice giving feedback and guiding learners to skill mastery
     
  • Understand Red Cross policies, recordkeeping, and certification processes

Course Prerequisites

 

  • Must be at least 16 years of age
     
  • Possess a current American Red Cross Adult CPR/AED and First Aid certification (or equivalent)
     
  • Complete the online Instructor Candidate Training module prior to the classroom session
     
  • Successfully complete a skill assessment and demonstrate proficiency in all required skills

Course Length

 Approximately 12–16 hours (blended format: online + classroom) 

Certification

 American Red Cross Instructor Certification (valid for 2 years) 

Audience

 Health and safety professionals, educators, workplace safety trainers, community leaders, and others interested in teaching life-saving skills
