 This comprehensive, state-approved Armed Security Officer Training course is designed to meet the requirements established by the Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance for individuals seeking to obtain an armed security guard license. The program provides in-depth instruction on firearm safety, legal regulations, and tactical skills necessary for carrying a firearm while performing security duties in Tennessee. 

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

• Understand the expanded role and responsibilities of an armed security officer
   
• Demonstrate safe handling, maintenance, and use of firearms
   
• Apply Tennessee laws regarding use of force, deadly force, and firearm carry regulations
   
• Respond effectively to high-risk situations, including threat assessment and de-escalation
   
• Maintain professional conduct and ethical standards while armed
   
• Accurately complete firearms qualification per state requirements

• Legal limitations and use of force
   
• Firearm safety and operation
   
• Range qualification and live-fire exercises
   
• Conflict resolution and de-escalation techniques
   
• Use of deadly force and legal implications

 16 hours (as required by the state of Tennessee)
Includes classroom instruction and firearms range qualification 

• Must be at least 21 years of age
   
• Must be a U.S. citizen or legally authorized to work in the U.S.
   
• Must possess a valid Tennessee unarmed security guard license (or complete it concurrently)
   
• Must not have any disqualifying criminal convictions
   
• Must pass a background check and fingerprinting
   
• Must demonstrate proficiency in firearm handling and pass range qualification

 Successful completion of this course allows the student to apply for the Tennessee Armed Security Guard License. A certificate of completion and documentation of firearms qualification will be provided upon passing all required assessments. 

 This course is intended for individuals seeking to advance their careers in the private security field by becoming licensed armed security officers, as well as those transitioning from unarmed to armed positions.
